Tigard studio Closing July 2019

Many of you are asking about the Tigard studio, Ballroom Dance Company closing date…. We are sorry to say that the rumors are true and the beautiful building has been sold, not for a dance studio.

The posted closing date is July 28, 2019.  At this time the new owners are unknown and it is unknown whether there will be limited dance space for classes/lessons. Most of our DanceWell west-side classes have been moved to Beaverton/Aloha @ the Aloha Grange; however we are looking for space to teach our Tigard classes and hold private appointments.

TIGARD DANCES NOTES
2nd SATURDAYS: JUNE 8 & JULY 13
THURSDAYS WEEKLY.  Be sure to check the DanceWell calendar for when Thursday dances in Tigard will end.  The plan is to switch to Sunday night dances in the Beaverton location.

Summer Shake-Up: new parties and class times

We’re shakin’ it up for the Summertime!  CHECK THE SCHEDULE

FIRST:
Our TUESDAY AFTERNOON DANCE in Parkrose is moving to TUESDAY EVENINGS.  Address: 4848 NE 105th 97220

Starting June we are holding Tuesday night parties with a half hour mini-lesson and dancing til 10:30pm, similar to our Tigard Thursday dance.  Full music mix.

SECOND:
SATURDAY DANCE in the Beaverton location.  Address 3425 SW 185th Ave. 97006

Saturday, OCTOBER 26 HALLOWEEN DANCE SOCIAL will be the first dance party in the Aloha Grange!  There will be a 45-min. WALTZING lesson @ 7:30, with Open Dancing @ 8:15pm.  (Details may change, so keep checking the schedule..)

Two F-R-E-E WORKSHOPS on May 1st

On May 1st you can choose from two different F-R-E-E Beginner workshops!

  1.  in PARKROSE @ Parkrose Ballroom, [NE PDX] 105th & Sandy Blvd.  — Learn how to Foxtrot — THE “social” dance of the century!
  2. in BEAVERTON @ Aloha Grange, [WEST PDX]  185th & Tualatin-Valley Hwy– Learn how to dance the COUNTRY 2-STEP and have a blast zipping around the floor!!!

Not necessary, but thanks for booking it online — or just show up!

ADDING A STUDIO LOCATION in BEAVERTON !

May 2019

DanceWell PDX has another new location beginning May!  This will accommodate those who live in the Hillsboro, NW Portland and Beaverton areas!  The Aloha Grange at the corner of Tualatin- Valley Hwy. and 185th.  We’ll offer classes at the historic grange  on MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, THURSDAY afternoons  and SUNDAYS.

Parking is in the shopping center lot on the corner of 185th,  and the entrance to the building is on same corner.  More info soon!

SOME DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
The grange is west of Beaverton on Tualatin Valley Highway, just west of 185th Avenue.  Enter the Big Lots parking lot from Tualatin Valley Hwy. and park near 185th.  The Aloha Grange is a free-standing building between Alexander St. and TV Hwy.

DanceWell PDX: 9 hours of FREE dance classes Saturday March 23 — Parkrose Ballroom

On March 23 join us for 9 hours of FREE beginner dance lessons! Spring into Dance will be held at Parkrose Ballroom and is sponsored by Parkrose Ballroom, Sesame Dance Club and all the PDX teachers donating their time! Beginning at 10am classes will run until 6pm.

I’ll be teaching Salsa at noon, with many other popular PDX instructors teaching various classes. COME ON DOWN! Bring your friends and share the joy of dancing with new dancers! All beginner students and all levels of class helpers are welcome!!!   Find more information HERE

[2019-Wednesday Feb.27–Classes CLOSED

No classes today since the Parkrose School district  has cancelled school.  DanceWell will follow the school district usually if cancelling classes.

If you are registered for one of the classes cancelled today you will receive an email notice.  NOTE:  At this time I am unsure whether we will hold our POP-UP NIGHT OUT at the Vancouver Elks…  Check back a couple hours before… either here on the News BLOG or on our PARTIES PAGE list of events.

Friday February 22 is our monthly Eastside Ballroom dance.  This month we’re celebrating Apres la Saint Valentin since we missed our Valentines westside party on Feb. 9th.
